Full Two Day Program with 

Dr Ignacio Jarero (Mexico) and Prof Derek Farrell MBE

Open to EMDR therapists, other allied health and community workers to learn how to use the EMDR Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model to treat trauma after a crisis. 

Day 1 Saturday 10 May: Dr Jarero

Participants will learn the ASSYST treatment intervention procedures that have been translated to 21 languages. The initial training will be presented as a video recording by Dr Jarero, then Amanda Jones and Carol Gutierrez from the Critical Incident Recovery Network will lead an in-person practicum. Finally, Dr Jarero will join on line from Mexico for a Q & A session. All attendees will receive a certificate of completion and be recognised as a "Specialized Mental Health Provider (SMHP) able to provide ASSYST in your community.

Day 2: Sunday May 11 Prof Derek Farrell MBE

Prof Derek Farrell MBE will provide an overview of his work promoting EMDR humanitarian programs globally and how his experience can inform the continued development of programs in our region as well as become involved with the international movement to treat trauma. As President of Trauma Aid International, Derek will share their vision of developing a EMDR/AIP curricula as part of 'task-shifting' for paraprofessionals and allied workers. 

Fee for both programs is $350 + GST
