More than a refresher course:
Incorporating cultural awareness and inclusion in EMDR practice
Day 1: Thursday 20 March 2025 9-5 EST
Days 2-4: Thu- Sat 3-5 April 2025 9-5 EST
Day 5: Thursday 17 April 2025 9-5 EST
We invite EMDR therapists who identify as Black, Indigenous or other traditionally underrepresented person of colour (BIPOC) to join our training program to learn and share perspectives on using EMDR as a client-centred therapy adaptive to culture. Developed by Roy Kiessling, who founded EMDR Consulting (USA) for "providing an inclusive, affordable EMDRIA Approved EMDR basic training course that honors our diversity, acknowledges our differences, and celebrates our common goal of helping you integrate EMDR into your clinical practice". You will learn how to use Target Sequence Planning, the Processing Continuum and the Positive Belief system to increase your efficacy while focusing on the client's uniqueness.
As a not-for-profit organisation, the TRNA provides training in marginalised areas to build trauma treatment capacity for those in need. To support our objective, we also seek to create a community of local EMDR therapists to provide peer consultation, work together after disasters, and share local information.
You will be provided with the full program of training materials including the manual, videos of lectures for review, access to the TRNA training library and ongoing community support. We hope you will use your knowledge to support others in your community.
As you have completed EMDR training previously, consultation is not included in the price, but you may join our consultation groups at a separate cost if you wish. The hours of training may be counted as CPD for EMDRAA as well as your profession.
