EMDR Training for people who wish to complete their training.
EMDRAA Accredited
Day 1-2: 22-23 February 2025
Days 3-5: 8 - 10 March 2025 (VIC Labour Day Weekend)
EMDR clinicians who have begun their training are invited to join our training program in Ballarat beginning 15 February 2025. As EMDRAA Accredited Trainers, we support people from all comparable training programs who would like to join colleagues in Central Victoria to complete their training.
As a not-for-profit organisation, the TRNA provides training in marginalised areas to build trauma treatment capacity for those in need. To support our objective, we also seek to create a community of local EMDR therapists to provide peer consultation, work together after disasters, and share local information.
You will be provided with the full program of training materials including the manual, videos of lectures for review, access to the TRNA training library and ongoing community support.
We offer two entry points:
- EMDR Level 1 trained clinicians who need to complete the second 20 hours of training and consultation to be certified as completing the 50 hours required by EMDRAA. The fee is $1600 and includes 10 hours of group consultation. You may attend the full program, or begin on Day 2 where we begin with case conceptualisation and target sequence planning.
- EMDR clinicians who have completed their training, but wish to enhance their knowledge and skills from a culturally inclusive perspective. Consultation is not provided. The training hours can be counted as CPD.
Rural Workforce Australia Victoria Grants Program
There are several government grants to support professional development for mental health clinicians working in rural and remote areas which can be used for our training. We have been advised that the Allied Health and Nursing Upskilling Grant applications will be open on 1 February 2025 for training commencing after that date. This grant supports practitioners working in Ballarat (an MMM 2 area) with up to $1000 in funding.
People who wish to attend from more rural areas outside Ballarat (MMM3+) may wish to consider applying for a grant through the Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) within the Regional Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV). The program provides funding of up to $10,000 per eligible practitioner per financial year for workshops, post-graduate qualifications, short courses, conferences, professional development requirements of the applicant’s professional registration and/or association, recognised industry skills training, travel and accommodation and more.
The grant round will be open for all of February but you must apply at least one day before the training begins to be eligible, the grants are highly competitive, so the funding cannot be guaranteed.
Applicants will need to pay for the training then claim reimbursement from RWAV, you do not have to have paid before you put in your grant application. The sooner you get the application in, you will find out if you obtain a grant - so we suggest you get you application in on 1 February.
